Divya Samal, Founder and Creative Head of The Label Divya Samal brand is a luxury evening wear and bridal brand from Bangalore, India started by designer Divya samal in 2018. Studying in National institute of fashion Technology, Divya graduated with a degree in Fashion Technology. After launching her first collection at her Asian Designer week, her unique approach to ethnic attire stood out from the rest. It was one that replaced heavy beading and large looks with lightweight, unique silhouettes. Soon, Divya found herself beginning a business of what would become, the brand “LABEL DIVYA SAMAL”. Born in Odisha, Divya moved to Bangalore with her family soon after graduating from NIFT,CHENNAI. Growing up with an infatuation with design, Divya took note of the inseparable influences of art and culture.



The Brand aims to develop a community of women celebrating the multiple layers of their identity and upbringing. A division between an ethnic and everyday wardrobe is a reality for many women with Divya’s story.

This barrier between identities is one that Divya aims to dismantle with her designs. Divya’s pieces display Indian influences that can be worn for multiple occasions that are not culturally specific. Comfort, quality and minimalism are design principles that the Divya samal brand operates under. The brand designs for the rebellious women. She intends to allow women to express their strength and choices through design. The use of unorthodox cuts and design choices sets her brand apart. Label divya samal brand operates as one that belongs neither in one market or the other, but rather in a self-developed niche for women who wish to dress in comfort and modernity, without abandoning their cultural identities.

The brand has developed 10 collections to date ranging from bridal, evening, and ready wear pieces . The collections have launched at Bangalore Fashion Week and at several of Divya’s solo shows. Also awarded Karnataka’s women achiever award in Excellence in Fashion 2022 category. Divya’s pieces have been pulled for red carpets, music videos, several movies & tv shows, as well as collaborations with many Instagram and social media influencers. To date, the brand has grown in global fame, gaining consistent support from cities worldwide
